Aspiration Day 2019

It’s Time To Give Aspiration

Every year, SMA Negeri 3 Bandung hold an Aspiration Day. Aspiration Day, or usually called ASPIDAY is the day where all the students of SMA Negeri 3 Bandung could give their aspiration about the teachers, the curriculum, the programs, and everything that related to our school. The aspiration can be in form of critics, opinions, or even suggestions. This event is organized by Student Parliament.
This is how the Aspiration Day works. First, every class has their own representative to collect every aspiration that every student has in that class. The students of each class can also give their aspirations to the member of Student Parliament in their class. Second, the Student Parliament will collect all those aspirations from each class. The aspiration have to be rational, real, honest, and  have the quality of making the school better. After the Student Parliament collect and filter all the aspirations, they will give it to the school deputy. Therefore, they can make a better school every year.
Aspiration day also can give us some motivation. That comes from the guest that our school invited for like an interview, or more like talk show. These guest will telling story about their life that somehow will kind of give us motivation for the future and about changing for good. Too bad that sometimes students not really listening to the story and too busy to chat with each other so they can’t get the moral value from the story. I might be one of them. That is why teacher of SMA Negeri 3 Bandung will give assignment about what guest have told from that talk show. That's the smart trick that teacher do to teach us characters, or maybe to make our life more miserable. Just kidding. It will help us to get better grade, because more assignment we do, more point we get.

Natural Phenomenon

Beautiful Aurora

Aurora is a phenomenon that shows glow of burning at the layer of the ionosphere from a planet as a result of the interaction between the magnetic field of the planet with charged particles that being speared by the Sun or the solar wind.
The word "aurora" is derived from the name of the Roman goddess Aurora who traveled from east to west announcing the coming of the sun

Aurora is the light that was created in the air caused by atoms and molecules collide with electrically charged particles, mostly electrons and protons that comes from the Sun. The particles were catapulted from the Sun at a speed of more than 500 miles/seconds and sucked by the magnetic field of the earth around the North Pole and the South Pole.
An important part of the mechanism of the aurora is the solar wind. The solar wind is a stream of particles coming out of the Sun. The solar wind will move some amount of electricity in the atmosphere (the Van Allen Belt). The energy will accelerate particles into the upper atmosphere, and then it will crush with a variety of gas. So the result is the variety colors in the space.
There are a view type of Aurora based of it's shape.

  1. Arc Aurora has a shape like the rainbow in the night sky.
  1. Corona Aurora appear as a crown of diferging rays of light.
  1. Diffuse Aurora is the rarest type. It has a featureless glow and difficult to spot with the naked eyes.
  1. Drapery Aurora is the common type of Aurora, which ripples like a curtain.
Aurora also can be differentiated by it's location. There are two types of Aurora based on it's location, Aurora Australis, which only can be seen in the South Pole and Aurora Borealis, which only can be seen in the North Pole.
Aurora Australis also known as the southern light. This type of Aurora visible in high places, but when we see it from a distance, it seems like the aurora is on the line of the horizon. Aurora is typically green, but sometimes red or reddish as if the Sun were rising. That kind of Aurora can be seen from some places, especially in the southern parts of the Earth, like Antarctic, South America, Australia, New Zealand.
The Aurora Borealis is a kind of aurora that is called the northern lights. The name itself comes from the word Borealis Boreas from Greek that means North wind. There is no different between Aurora Australis and Borealis, only it happend in different location. Aurora Borealis happen in the northern part of earth, north America (New Orleans, Alaska, and Canada, Iceland, northern Norway.

The result caused by Aurora are hot plasma and variety of colors in the night sky. The hot plasma only happen to an Aurora called Aurora Theta because it’s plasma layer affected by a hot temperature.
The colours of the Aurora depends on which atom is struck and the altitude of the meeting.
1.    Red aurora happens due to electron collisions with oxygen atom in 150 miles above earth.
2.    Green aurora happens due to electron collisions with nitrogen atom in 100 miles above earth.
3.    Purple aurora happens due to electron collisions with oxygen atom in 60 miles above earth.
4.    Blue aurora happens due to electron collisions with nitrogen atom in lower than 60 miles above earth.
There are some unique facts about Aurora

1.     Aurora not only happen on earth, but also in other planet’s solar system.
2.     Aurora can move from the North to South
3.     Aurora has a cold temperature, so it looks like cold fire in the nigt sky.
4.     Auro ra will look even more beautiful if you are using sophisticated cameras
